Welcome to Atlantic Barter Co. These terms keep our community fair and safe. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. Please read them — they’re short and in plain language.

1. What Atlantic Barter Co. is

Atlantic Barter Co. is a platform that lets neighbors arrange cash-free trades of goods and skills. We provide the space to connect; we are not a party to any trade. Trades happen directly between members, and members are solely responsible for their listings, their conduct, and the items or services they exchange.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority where you live) to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login secure. You’re responsible for everything that happens under your account.

3. The cash-free rule

Atlantic Barter Co. is for bartering, not buying and selling. You agree not to use the platform to exchange money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or other cash equivalents, or to run a business reselling inventory. This rule is core to what we are.

4. Your responsibilities

You agree to follow our Community Guidelines, to list only items and services you’re legally allowed to trade, to describe them honestly, and to treat other members with respect. You agree not to post anything illegal, unsafe, deceptive, hateful, or harassing, and not to misuse the platform (for example, spamming, scraping, or attempting to break or overload it).

5. Trades are between members

Atlantic Barter Co. does not inspect, guarantee, or insure any item or service. We don’t verify the identity of members beyond their account email. You are responsible for evaluating trades and for your own safety — please follow our Safe Trading guidance. Any dispute arising from a trade is between the members involved.

6. Content you post

You keep ownership of the text and photos you post. By posting, you grant Atlantic Barter Co. a non-exclusive license to display that content on the platform so the service can function. You’re responsible for having the rights to anything you upload.

7. Moderation & account suspension

To protect the community, we may remove listings, hide content, or suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or our guidelines, at our discretion. We’ll aim to be fair, but keeping members safe comes first.

8. No warranties

Atlantic Barter Co. is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise the service will always be available, error-free, or that trades will work out. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Atlantic Barter Co. is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform or from any trade.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform grows. If we make significant changes, we’ll do our best to let members know. Continuing to use Atlantic Barter Co. after changes means you accept the updated terms.
